The first problem I have with the Russian keyboard, is that I often mix up the false friends of the two alphabets. So for instance when I want to type the letter 'П', I often end up typing the 'Р'. I don't have this problem when using a phonetic keyboard. Secondly, I don't see how it's a problem that letters like Я, Ю, Ш or Щ don't have direct Latin counterparts.
